Voidtrecker express

Traveling through the spaces in between, the gaps in the fabric of reality, the veil between worlds. This is the Voidtrecker Express. Heroes from every world imaginable find themselves plucked from their lives, their homes and on a platform at the edge of the void. Waiting for a train. A train that will take them where they are needed the most.
One of those heroes, for good or ill is you.

Voidtrecker Express is a panfandom roleplay game set on an interdimensional train. Events are missions set on different worlds and so will incorporate a variety of genre’s.
The game will run on a 2:1 scale and monthly events will alternate between events on different worlds where characters will have a mission to complete and events on the train which will be a mix of more SoL, the more wacky fare of DWRP events and events that hint at the meta plot.
The game in general will be medium to high risk action adventure but will have some darker aspects in some of the worlds and the general meta (just wanting that there from the beginning so no one is surprised!)
Arrival
Characters come aware of themselves on a smokey platform. They are wearing clothes that don’t belong to them and on their back they have a rucksack of supplies. On their wrist they have a watch like device and in their hand they hold a ticket.
The smoke clears and there stands a jet black steam train, Voidtrecker Express is written in gold on the side of the engine. The doors open. The horns sound. All Aboard!
The Train
The train looks from the outside to be a jet black steam train but the inside is a lot more high tech and indeed it is capable of travelling between universes so it is no ordinary train. Carriages will be added and replaced throughout game play but will always include sleeper carriages and eating facilities. Characters will sleep in rooms of four, accommodation will be quite cramped and so it will probably be a relief to come to their first world!
The Void
For the light portion of each day the void is a kaleidoscope of colour swirling around the train. You may see shapes or patterns if you stare at it long enough but a moment later it is chaos once more. Light and dark change in the blink of an eye. Dark is pitch black. Nothing out of the windows at all.
Worlds
Once an IC month (every two ooc months) the train will arrive on a world. There will be an ooc announcement in the run up to a world event that will have information about the world, the people characters might meet and the missions. Each world will have a mission, which will be a task or series of tasks that characters are asked to perform. Typically world events will last 2ooc weeks (1IC week). The train may or may not stay with the characters for the duration- that will be detailed on the event post. Characters don’t have to get off the train regardless if the train stays or not and even if they go onto the world they do not have to take part in the mission.
NPCs and Player Actions
The train itself will not have any NPCs as such, though the train command may communicate with character through the intercom system and the information points. The worlds the train visits will have a mixture of NPCs for the characters to interact with, some will be mod controlled and some just 'background NPCs'.
The game will have some sort of 'character shenanigan' page on the mod journal which will be a place to link threads you think mods may need to know about that may have IC reprecussions (i.e your character wrecking a thing) or where you can ask 'what if' questions about things you are planning so you can be aware of the consequences so threads can move smoothly (i.e my character is planning to not board the train, what happens?)
Characters
I am planning for this game to accept all kinds, OU, AU, CRAU, OC. It will allow doubles to- with a limit of 1OU and 2AUs of any one character. It won't have any kind of overall character cap but we will keep an eye on casts and may put restrictions in if any casts get too huge to keep the game balanced.
People will be able to play 2 characters at a time, though that may rise depending on how big the game is!
